Disney Christmas Cruise was Great

New organizations are being announced. Lots of unhappy people. The trend for wider span of influence is marked. Will really seperate the good Mgrs from the bad Mgrs pretty quickly. No way a bad Mgr will be able to manage 15 technical direct reports without blowing up. This is good news for me!

So now that folks are getting reassigned, a lot are unhappy. I’ve heard at least 2 say that if they’d known what their new assignment would be, they’d have volunteered to be laid off. I think it is another way the company is going to drive more headcount cuts.

So now its the morning after - folks have traded in their stunned or shocked look for a happy (wasn’t me) or sad (was a friend) look. Sometimes both at same time.

The long awaited layoffs have begun. One person I thought deserved it and is at same paygrade I’m at just got dumped. I shouldn’t be happy about it, but I am. It makes my position stronger. I’ve just got to ride out the rest of the day…

Crapper thought of the day: Companies that provide luxury items are toast: rich people watched their portfolios evaporate the last few weeks - they aren’t buying now. Middle class folks are just trying to hunker down and get by. But people still need clothes, medicine, and food. Super Walmarts and Targets should see an upswing. The little mall niche stores are toast!

I remember spending time on the beaches of SoCal as a kid in the 70’s & 80’s - you NEVER saw fat people in revealing swim wear parading around. Now, every trip to a SC, NC, or VA beach leaves me grossed out: flabby guys/gals getting sun burned in places that should never see the light of day! Is this an East vs West coast thing or a 80’s vs 00’s thing?

‘Lars and the Real Girl’ is a benifactor of Netflix. Based on the jacket, I’d never pay $5 to rent. But with a monthly subscription you can take risks. This one paid off - it was an entertaining movie.
